One year my husband and I decided to raise chickens. We started out with twelve one day old chicks. We brought them home and put them in a box with a light and shredded newspaper on the bottom. We put a screen over the top to keep Fluffy away from them. He was very interested in them and liked to watch them. We put heavy books on top of the box to keep Fluffy from lifting the screen up. After about a week we had to go back to work and leave Fluffy alone with the baby chicks. When we got home we didn’t hear any peeping sounds and seen the books and screen were knocked off the top of the box. I went over to the box and looked inside and Fluffy was in the box with all the baby chicks snuggled up against him sound asleep. Fluffy just looked up at me with a big smile on his face. The light bulb wasn’t enough heat for the baby chicks, Fluffy realized that the chicks were too cold , we just thought the peeps were peeping because that’s what they do. It never occurred to us that the chicks weren’t warm enough. Fluffy looked after the baby chicks as the grew and soon it got to the day that they were old enough to go live on their own up in the chicken coop. Every time we went outside Fluffy would run ahead up to the chicken coop to check on his chickens. Sometimes one would get out of the pen and be out in the yard somewhere. Fluffy would hunt it down and hold it to the ground with his paw and bark until Keith or I would come and get the chicken and put it back inside the pen. Fluffy was a really loving little cockapoo.

The dog clothing market is huge. People used to buy dog clothes for a specific function such as a warm sweater such as the stripy dog jumper, for a tiny dog to wear in cold weather. Some dog fashions are beneficial for our dogs. Dog coats and dog sweaters protect our tiny companions from losing heat in the cold weather or from indoor air conditioning. Dogs such as the hairless Chinese crested need clothing to protect them from the cold or sun, so having a wardrobe for your little dog is necessary for some pets.
Many people buy wonderful clothes for their beloved pet strictly for fashion. Some just want their pampered pooches to look as good as they do and feel money is no object. Celebrities certainly were instrumental in making dog clothing popular, by showing their pets wearing fantastic outfits and accessories. Clothes designers have got on the bandwagon. They are now designing and making fabulous clothes for our wonderful dogs.
Many dog owners love special holidays such as Easter, Christmas and Halloween, so they can dress their pampered pets in Santa suits, ghost outfits or even as cupid. Often pets enjoy the attention they get from their owners dressing them up and pampering them.
Unlike years ago, there is a huge, varied selection of pet clothing and accessories because of the market demands. No longer just for smaller breeds of dog, there is clothing available for both large and smaller dogs that keep your pet dry, warm or fashionable. Our pets are such a valuable and loved member of our household and give us unconditional love. In return, we feed and shelter them and love them back. We have now added ‘clothe them’ to this. Because domestic breeds have adjusted to our environment standards, they require more protection from bad weather just as we do. Many of the smaller breeds lose body heat fast, so protective clothing such as the waterproof hoody helps reduce this loss.
At WWW.PETSFUNCLUB.COM shopping for dog clothes remember there are dog boutiques and shops that specialize in everything from daywear dog fashions, designer dog clothing, cold weather wear, to unique and fabulous evening dog clothes. Make sure you have extra room in your drawers or closets for your pets clothing. Better yet buy them their own dresser to store your pampered dog’s outfits.

Pets Fun Club take pride in the design and ergonomics of our canine collars, color fastness of our leather leashes and the durability of our pet products. Your pet deserves a wardrobe of finely finished leather collars to suit the mood so we put collection of leather dog collars to work focusing on attention to detail in the security of the product. The Hamish McBeth Collection has been road tested and review the dog collar buckles and leash clips to ensure they are always secure. Canine fashion comes and goes but style lasts forever. If you want style why not choose the Lucy Tan Collar and matching Leash
The Hamish McBeth Engraveable Dog Tags are a must for the trendy dog, they finish off any matching collar and lead collection. Our favourite is the Bone Bling Guitar it looks great with any of any collar and lead collection.
Why not treat your best pal to quality leather in 2008….

Some pets love cars – others would much rather stay put for the rest of their lives, especially if the end destination is the vet.
Train them young. Cats generally don’t like cars, but puppies can be trained fairly easily to become good travellers. Play with the puppy inside the car when it is stationary. Then switch the engine on. When it is used to this, start taking the dog for short rides. Crate them. For larger dogs, it is a good idea to crate them, especially for long journeys. This will also protect a dog in case of an accident. Many animals will feel safer inside their crate, and therefore will put up less of a performance.
Pet carriers. If an animal does not like travelling, then it is very dangerous to transport them in a car, unless they are in a proper pet carrier of some sort. A clawing cat, or a yelping puppy can easily distract the driver and cause an accident. Don’t use a cardboard box – it is too easy to escape from these. Pets that don’t like car rides, are also known to urinate and defecate in the car. If the pet is in a carrier, you can line the bottom with newspapers and a plastic sheet to prevent damage. Remember, a paste of bicarbonate of soda gets stains and smells out of car upholstery.
Pet partitions. When travelling with big dogs, it is a good idea to have part of the car partitioned, so that the driver cannot be distracted. One often sees this when owners travel with more than one large dog – especially if it is a smallish car. But never put an animal in the boot of the car. Many cars, especially older ones, could emit strong exhaust fumes into the boot.

Check out our new facility listing groomers.
If you are a Dog Groomer who would like to be listed contact Tim on 087 614 26 35.
The reason we decided to do this was because in error the Golden Pages put the Pets Fun Club phone number in the Pet Grooming section and I’m refusing people over and over again daily and normally when they ring I’m out-and-about.
We will have access to the list and give out the number advise them to visit the pet fun club Dog Grooming informaton page.
We will include as many groomers as possible and make sure it becomes a page of reference for people looking for pet groomers nationwide.
So give me a call or send an email to help@petsfunclub.ie
